SHORT TERM WORK ZONES:
- Stay alert for roadwork on Rockville Pike at
Randolph Rd.
- Montrose Rd. as part of the continuing construction of the
Montrose Pkwy. (Click
here to view map) There is a new traffic pattern at Montrose Rd.,
Montrose Pkwy.
and Rockville Pike (MD.355). Eastbound Montrose Rd. through traffic to
Randolph Rd. must use Montrose Pkwy. to go east of Rockville Pike.
Eastbound Montrose Pkwy. traffic to Rockville Pike (MD.355) northbound
and southbound must turn left at the new signal at 'Old" Old Georgetown
Rd. Westbound Randolph Rd. traffic patterns have not been changed at
this stage of construction. Please follow detour signing in this area.
LONG TERM WORK ZONES:
- On Veirs Mill Rd.(MD.586) from before Aspen
Hill Rd. to just before Twinbrook
Pkwy. blocking the eastbound left turn lane
and the westbound left lane.
- Beginning November 2, 2009 on Bethesda Ave between Woodmont Ave
and Arlington Rd to continue until December 4, 2009 from 9 PM. until 5
AM Monday thru Thursday.
- Due to a bridge repair on New Cut Rd. a closure is in place on
New Cut Rd. Detours route in effect; Please follow posted
detour sign.
- Beginning October 26, 2009 the (SHA) State Highway Administration
will close lanes periodically for 15 min at a time starting at Midnight
until 5 AM. Columbia Pike (US.29) between Fairland Rd and Briggs
Chaney Rd Monday thru Friday . The overnight closures will occur
periodically through into the Spring of 2010.
- Watch
for the construction of the new
Silver Spring
Transit Center, bus operations have been moved to the on street stops.
New
signs throughout the area around the Transit Center
display maps showing the location of Ride On, Metro, VanGo, MTA
Commuter
and the University of Maryland shuttle bus stops. These maps also
show the locations of the Commuter Store, Taxi Stand, Kiss & Ride
area, Parking, Silver Spring Metrorail station and the MARC Brunswick
Line
Silver Spring Station. New bus stop signs, shelters and other
amenities have also been added throughout the area around the Transit
