walking to school during your commute to work.
- On Friday, June 12, 2020 until further notice, the County Department
of Transportation (MCDOT) will close the northbound right lane of
Georgia Avenue (MD-97) in downtown Silver Spring for restaurants outdoor
seating. The "Street Dine" program was conceived by the Silver
Spring Urban District and will be the first closure of this type as a
part of MCDOT's "Share Streets Initiative. For

- Ride On
has further reduced services to operate under the Essential Service
Plan. This plan includes 35 critical routes so that residents can take
Ride On for essential trips during the COVID-19 health crisis. Ride On
buses will not begin any service after midnight. If a bus run is
scheduled to start before midnight, the bus will complete the route,
including locations they serve after midnight.

- Passengers on Montgomery County Ride On buses
will be required to wear face coverings to board the bus. Customers
who do not comply will be advised of the requirement to wear a face
covering and may be directed not to board the vehicle or to exit the
vehicle.
- Passengers will be directed to board through
the rear doors of the bus to limit close contact between passengers
and drivers. Passengers can board through the front doors if a lift
is needed to accommodate a disability or stroller
- The Essential Service Plan applies seven days
a week, with no differentiation between weekdays and weekends.
- Ride
On Flex will not be in service.
